Clip Zip Rockbox Theme: Cabbiev2

Hey,

Just wondering what people think of my cabbiev2 port.
The images are taken from the iRiver h10 5gb port. The repeat icon is a bit squished but there's not much I can do about that. Unless I take the .svg image from the rockbox site and compress that. I might do that to make this more official. Just posting to get ideas really and if anyone thinks it's worthwhile to upload to the rockbox site.

I think it looks great, Stephenc. Definitely worth uploading to the Rockbox site...once a Clip Zip theme page exists, of course.

Resized the icons with The Gimp this time and have uploaded the hopefully final version to the rockbox tracker, for hopefull inclusion to SVN.

Moved the icons down lower so they are all in line with each other now.
Should be the final version, if anyone spots anything wrong can they let me know. New version is at the above link on the rockbox flyspray.

That's what you need Marv. The other three are screen shot graphics. I'm guessing those are for the themes page when the CZ gets added.

OK, it works on my Zip. It's been a while since I had my Fuze, but if memory serves, the background color seems a bit washed out in most of the menus, but the WPS color is just right.

Cabbie V2 lightens in color bottom to top pretty much the same way on both the Fuze and the CZ to my eyes. It wound up looking washed out on the CZ. Cheaper screen, lower resolution?

I just found the cabbiev2.bmp backdrop file and wpsbackdrop-96x96x16.bmp file and darkened them in towards the top. Nothing fancy, I just used Irfanview to paint in a darker gray toward the top. Saved it in the same format and used those to replace the ones in the theme. The darker gray fixes the washed out look and the horizontal lines aren't nearly a visible. I've played around with themes like that a bit so it's fairly quick and easy for me.

All the heavy lifting was done when the theme was created. Changing backdrop colors and the like can let you customize them with minimal effort.

You can edit the wps file to delete the commands for info. you don't want to see. Some reading: http://www.rockbox.org/wiki/CustomWPS.

hi there i just used the cabbiev theme, i wanna ask, the yellow button status bar appears only to the wps or to every menu i navigate??
To me when im out of the wps, the bar becomes white colored and simple icons appear, have i done something wrong??

What you describe is just what I get in that theme so I don't think there's a problem. Did you know you can mix and match different WPS to different themes? I like the Cabbiev2 WPS with the Clock Lock theme and the icons set to be turned off. With that setup and the main menu configured to show the few options I use I can see the album art if I care or navigate blind.

What I've found with themes is that if anything breaks it's usually the WPS. When I see that revert to the failsafe I know I've made a mistake in trying to edit the WPS.

Good Day I edit wps of cabbiev2 to support japanese fonts etc.
and now im representing to you cabbieV2 (Uni_Zip)

I copy some of the codes of the cabbie enhanced+ of the Sansa Fuze and use the fonts of 10-Sanazami Mincho for the Id3tags and 08-Sanazami Mincho for the next song (to prevent overlapping of the playbar).
