My X-Fi2 has gone into an infinite scan mode. After much searching, I haven't seen any posts indicating how to overcome this situation? My computer sees it as an external disk; hit reset many times - fail; tried to start up in recovery mode - fail..; I was able to upload latest software - no effect; drained battery and recharged - no effect. I can load music and play it through my computer....
Is there no known way to reload the management software on the device to make it an X-Fi2 again? Thanks |

I had a similar problem, but i simply reset the player and i haven't had any problems since. All i can think of is to contact creative and see what they can do. I hope that helps

By "scan mode" you mean the "scanning disc - screen" ?
You say your pc sees it as an external disc, so can you perhaps erase all the contents on the player and see if it then might finish the disc-scanning?

Correct Brett Val
It goes to "scanning disk" and freezes up after about three scan cycles. I've tried erasing everything on the disk and then reset - nada. I even tried to reload latest firmware - made no difference at all. |
