Clip Zip Rockbox Theme: DFKT Minimum Zip

I am no artist, but I have tickled a bit with the small icons none the less. They are maybe a little bit more clear, although many of them have probably lost their `meaning'. Feel free to do whatever you want, but please share potential improvements. tango_micro.bmp tango_micro_viewers.bmp PS: This theme is awesome. I do, however, miss funny defaults for album art like in the `samsung'-like theme.

I found two interesting icon sets which might be suitable:

• 8x8px.com. License: "it's free". In particular we could add colors. Size: 8x8.
• Free Icons pixel style. CC license. 9x9.

DFKT Minimum Zip

Theme displays an alternative screen layout when no album art is available. Theme falls back to file/folder names when no metadata is present. Includes FM radio interface with RDS support. Uses custom resized Tango icons to match the font height. The "R" icon in the status bar is a Replaygain status indicator. Theme shows warnings when volume level is above 0dB, when sample rate isn't 44.1kHz, and when Replaygain is enabled but no Replaygain tags are available for the current track. It is possible for users to change the theme's larger main font from the Settings/Theme Settings/Font menu. Version: 0.38

DFKT Minimum Zip FSAA

Basically the same theme as DFKT Minimum Zip, with the difference that near-fullscreen album art is displayed when the currently playing track is paused. No album art is displayed in the main WPS. Due to current limitations in the Rockbox theme code I had to fork the other theme, since it is not possible to display album art twice, in different viewports and/or in different sizes. Version: 0.38

"Undocumented feature" of FSAA: pressing short-then-long-FFWD (aka. folder skip) while paused gives you a (very) poor man's cover flow.

I can't seem to download from the main site. Could someone post a version of the latest versions. [I understand that it supposedly doesn't work with the latest build, but I've got the latest build, and it works w/ an old version of the theme....]

yes, dfkt, but the themes don't work with current builds. at least not the WPS.

I think the issue in the link above might have been resolved but I think there's another issue with themes at the moment.

I've checked the themes that have been removed from the Rockbox theme page listing, and done a bit of testing with them, and I've deduced that the common factor is that they all have a backdrop on bar tags such as the progress or volume bars. If I try removing that code from my themes I can reupload them, but then they don't look right. I've tried reporting the issue to Rockbox but I'm not sure if or when it will get resolved.

On the one hand I'm really impressed with Rockbox but on the other I'm a bit unimpressed with the stability of the skin engine and theming.

Perhaps that is why the Zip is still referred to as an "unstable" port?
I'm guessing this doesn't happen on any of the devices listed as stable.

Theming shouldn't be dependent on the port though. Its the same theme engine on the 6 year old ipod port as on the zip.

I just tried the FSAA theme with the latest build - 9acd702M - and it works fine.

I wonder if it will appear magically again on the themes site, or if I have to re-upload it...

I like DFKT Minimum Zip FSAA mucher. Howerver, would you like mod a theme to display cover like "Uberadri's BigAlbumArt"? When playing, it display the track info first for few seconds, then turn into cover pics.

Updated both themes to 0.40. Links are in the first post.

Lots of changes under the hood, taking advantage of new theme code functionality - so it needs a fairly new RaaA build.

This version has improved battery status display, improved Replaygain status display, and specific tweaks for chiptunes formats.

DFKT Minimum Zip INV

Same as the other DFKT Minimum Zip themes, except this one shows near-fullscreen album art while playing. Album art is drawn onto the backdrop buffer and shows a transparent progress bar and peak meters over it. File info is shown during volume change, FFWD/REW, and while paused. Version: 0.40
