Default how to use fm though speakers

To get the FM app to play out of the speakers:

- Plug in the earphones into the earphone jack (note, you have to plug them all the way in. I had to push in until it clicked. It's not obvious ...
- Start the FM app, then press Menu (the bars icon), and select Speakers

You'll then get the FM output going to the speakers.

In other words, it appears that SOMETHING needs to be plugged into the earphone jack in order for the FM app to work, even if you want the actual output to go to the speakers. As another person posted, this is probably because it uses the earphone wire as an antenna.

sorry if you already know how.

Very strange, not very car friendly. I found an app that let you see rds info on fm. Kind of ugly, but works.

While we're talking's a problem I'm having; I like to run the radio and put my SGP4.0 in my pocket; unfortunately, before long, even tho I've 'locked' the device (screens off etc.), the movement seems to kick the volume up and I'm listening at level 30; I've looked around in the App store for something that will allow me to 'lock' the volume on the rocker switch but haven't been able to find anything;

anybody know of an app that is able to do that?
many thanks for any help
