No, newer. 3.10 was branched in November, so if hes working with code from around Christmas, its about a month newer.

I don't think so. It doesn't really seem to do anything, so I tend to think the feature described for that register in the manual may be incorrect or different in the hardware revision sandisk used.

Patches Added:

Modified so that pressing stop and skip track forward/backward do not activate the backlight

Patch Pack: PatchPack[v4.1].tar

Known Issues (only apply to the build using G4Oblivion's keymap):
• Playback is not stopped before shutting down if shutdown from the quickscreen
• If HOME button is held down too long, it will lock and then unlock

Release Notes:
Added FS#12596: dfkt's keymap available in a separate build.
Modified FS#9305 so that pressing stop and skip track forward/backward do not activate the backlight.

This should be my last update for the foreseeable future unless there's a problem with one of the patches or there's a commit to Rockbox that's worth updating for.
I may remove part of the modification to FS#9305 if it interferes with using bookmarks since they're created using the stop button, though I highly doubt it will.

Thanks for updating your build. Someone was requesting a build with at least some of those patches over here http://www.anythingbutipod.com/forum...&postcount=540 Don't know if your build has exactly the features they want but as you've included the updated patches and a they seem to have a build environment set up they may have enough to roll their own.

FS#9305: Applied patch to reset backlight timeout on each keypress to prevent timeout while device is in use
FS#12111: Updated
All patches rebased against 6548dc2 using latest upstream patches

Three years later

With this release I've rebased all the patches using the original upstream patches. It's possible I may have missed modifications I made to the patches, but AFAIK FS#9305 is the only patch I modified and I reapplied the modifications. It's also possible I didn't resolve the rebase conflicts properly.

I didn't bother to review the patches or thoroughly test them. I simply rebased, resolved conflicts, made sure they built and that Rockbox booted with a clean install. I didn't test FS#11473 at all, so ye be warned there.

No new patches, sadly. I didn't have the motivation to go through gerrit looking for anything useful.

I got bored and decided to build Rockbox with GCC 5.3-20160419 and benchmark codec performance.

Results (vanilla 18fecd9 Clip+ AMSv2 variant 1):
Rockbox toolchain w/ GCC 4.4.7: https://gist.github.com/anonymous/.../gcc-4.4.7
Arch Linux toolchain w/ GCC 5-20160419: https://gist.github.com/anonymous/.../gcc-5.3-20160419
Comparison in Foswiki format (raw): https://gist.github.com/anonymous/.../comparison

Monkey's Audio, FLAC and MP2 suffered the most (>= -5%)
AAC-LC, Nero AAC-HEv2, Opus and WMA Professional benefited the most (>= +5%)

notes: Rebuilt Arch's arm-none-eabi-gcc to apply Rockbox's mutlilibs & no exceptions patch

I might release new builds built with the GCC5 toolchain when I have time to test and package. Nearly all popular codecs either benefit or have equal decode performance except FLAC which has ~6% decrease.

---

Edit: Builds are up. You can find them at https://www.mediafire.com/folder/kx4...f/Experimental

All I did was some basic testing with database/track, FM radio and plugins. I haven't done any battery tests.

Changes:
• Dropped FS#12111. All it really managed to do was reduce battery life.
• Silenced a few warnings FS#11473 introduced
