i9 won't switch on

I've had the cowon i9 for about a month and absolutely loved it.
The battery ran out one day so when i got home i popped it onto charge for a few hours, when I put it on to charge there was no sign of it charging but i just assumed this was because the battery was flat.
However, now it won't turn on at all and isnt detected when i plug it into my pc. i've tried putting it back on charge and trying to turn it on which also doesn't work.
Anyone have any idea what could have happened/whether it could be fixed?

Did you press the reset hole/button?

Questions:
1 - How are you charging it? If from PC, try a AC wall charger which normally gives it enough juice to take a charge.
2 - Have you tried reset button? Push reset button (w/pin) and see if you can boot it up after.
3 - Last resort, if it's under a year old Cowon will fix or replace it for free under warranty.

yeah i've pressed the reset button and tried after that.
I initially charged it with the ac, then wondered if it could be the plug but tried with the pc and no difference!
It may have to be repaired!

Another thought as stupid as it may sound, many have complained about how hard it is to connect their usb cable into the player, are you sure it's all the way in? Or could the cable be damaged?

That's a good call.
Just checked the cable into the player and its quite secure, but plugging the usb into the plug seems to be pretty loose so going to try another ac adaptor.
Will have to try another cable too but sadly don't have one!

Strange that yours is loose as the other issues we've fielded here are peeps that eventually find out it's not inserted all the way due to it being very tight when new and they didn't insert deep enough. New cable isn't that expensive, Hope it works
