I failed to note in your earlier posting that you were trying to connect to Yahoo and Gmail. The built-in mail app has an implicit understanding of those account types and as a result it should just work without you having to change anything.

The imap address, although convoluted, is actually legit. For a point of comparison, this is what my working Yahoo mail settings look like in the stock mail app:
Code:
IMAP server: samsung.imap.mail.yahoo.com
port: 993
security: SSL
user name: <yahoo email address>
password: <yahoo password>

SMTP server: samsung.smtp.mail.yahoo.com
port: 465
security: SSL
require sign-in: true
user name: <yahoo email address>
password: <yahoo password>
(pretty standard stuff)

Your SGP doesn't have any funky network settings like a VPN does it?
