So I was charging my Zen today. I looked at it a few minutes after I plugged it in and noticed the screen had gone completely blank, not showing the charging icon. The back of the device was very hot. I unplugged it. A few minutes later I heard a very loud "POP" and smelled fried electronics. Obviously won't start any more.
Questions: 1. Anyone else have this happen? 2. Is there any way to salvage the unit, or is it time to go shopping? 3. If can't salvage the unit, any way to access the data? Overall, not that big a deal because I pretty much know what was on it, but would be a time saver to not have to rebuild from scratch. |

sounds more like the board fried. If your battery exploded, it would have caught fire. either way it is dead.
