Arrow Right Looking for Sansa Lil Monsta firmware. Help!

Hey everyone!
I recently introduced my sansa e270 to a large magnet, and it no longer wanted to turn on. So I restored it and got it working again. Now, before I had a firmware with the lil monsta animation, and it was awesome! It had a sleep mode instead of the full on/ off that this firmware has. and a few other things I really liked.

Does anyone know what im talking about? I tried updating with the sansa updater, but it brought me to 1.02.24A.

I dont remember what I had before Its been so long since ive had a problem with it. haha.

thanks in advance!

-Steve

IIRC all e270s are v1, so hes got the current firmware. No idea what the older ones were like though.

Good to know, I do remember reading about the "Lil Monsta firmware" but I never gave it a try as mine's been rockboxed for a long time and I didn't see the need for a little different boot animation screen. According to some of the posts at the sandisk forums they say it’s the 1.03.01HBETA fw. It’s also stated that it was buggy fw so I’d avoid it and from what they say, we may have a copy or link for it somewhere in the e200 forums.

Here’s the links I skimmed:

Yeah, I bought the e200v1 because I wanted to get into rockbox development. Once I had it I never actually used the Sandisk firmware so I don't know anything about it or the different versions. I guess the OP should try a few versions and see if he can find one that looks like he remembers.

Thanks for all the replies guys!

I didnt so much like the animation, but the fact that the player would "sleep" instead of turning off. It just seemed to operate very well!

I will for sure check those out, thanks for your help!

I also may just go back to rockbox, I just had some freezing issues with it, so thats why I went to the stock firmware.

I'm not sure which version mines running (old one for sure ) but the latest rockbox version should be prefect as I've never had problems with mine.

If it is the beta firmware I found it, it’s on rapid share and the links for various firmwares are here but like I said ... I’d think twice before loading it if you’re not sure what you are doing. From what I remember it’s hard to remove and some people bricked their players (yes I know you can unbrick them), chrisjs162216 posted a removal procedure here.
