Default SGP 4.0 storage and Google Play question

Hello all,

I am just curious as I just started using my SGP 4.0 more frequently and wanted to ask some questions. So with Google Play one is able to make songs available offline, so this downloads the songs onto the usable 5gb internal storage I assume.

My question is: what if this would exceed the 5gb limit (ex. other large files are stored into device), would it be able to somehow redirect storage of offline songs onto a micro sd card and have it play it from there? I know I can just store my songs in a micro sd and not even bother with Google Play but I would appreciate it if anyone knows something.

Perhaps my general question aside from Google Play is what happens when you exceed the internal storage limit, but have a micro sd card inside - will it auto-detect it and just save files, etc onto the external or is this all a manual process?

I do not think that it will automatically start using your external SD card, but there is no reason that you cannot move them there yourself once downloaded and direct your app to look in a folder on your card so that you can play them. ES File Explorer is free and does a great job moving - and backing up files.
