Unhappy >apphub< One app for all
In the moment I'm trying to make a special app that replaces the normal "ZEN OS". It should hold ALL of the apps on this website for the Zen X-FI 2.(of corse I will ask the creator of the app first)
The features:
-Portrait mode
-You can change the background
-It looks a bit like Windows 8(Charmbar)

The BIG PROBLEM: I CAN'T PROGRAM IT!

I am only very good at making the images.(GIMP, PAINT, OPEN OFFICE)

Pleas someone help!


In a way I think I know what Habhome and the others mean:
-you have to be really good in PROGRAMMING
-the ZEN is not up to something like this
-I've been dreaming to much

But what if it "hosts" the apps?
Would it be possible then?

My second thought: You've got to be kidding me? That's like saying: "Hey I'm going to climb Mount Everest, but I don't know how to climb so you'll have to take me there, but I'm awesome at cooking food with a portable kitchen!"

Sure, interface designers don't have to understand the actual implementation very much. But before the interface is even considered there is usually a programmer who has given an "OK" that the concept is plausible.

So yeah, all the luck to you finding someone who is willing and capable of creating his own OS to this device from your designs. I for one can't help you.

Would this app just 'host' other apps? If so this it could be done, BUT any demanding app would fail due to lack of memory.

No, he planned for it to be an entirely new Firmware for the player. Which takes over every function of it, from playing music to running apps. If it had just been an AppCenter from where you could start apps, then that would be very much possible indeed as long as it handled its memory well.

I am not sure if you want to make new firmware for player
or application to play zen apps on win8.
