Hi all. First post on this forum!
So I'm in for a new music player / pda / do-it-all droidian device to replace a stolen itouch. I'm torn between the SGP 4.0 and the SGP 4.2. Since I have a big collection of itunes-encoded .aac files, I need to know whether they can be played on these devices straight on. The specifications sheets for the galaxy players 4.0, 5.0 and 4.2 that Samsung provides suggest that they play only up to 128kbps .aac files. However I have already got a confirmation from a new galaxy 4.2 owner that he could listen to its itunes-encoded 256kbps .aac files with no problems whatsoever. Has anyone here checked if the 4.0 can play high-bitrate .aac files? Cheers |

Looks like it. I have tracks ranging from 256 kbps - 320 kbps aac (stereo/VBR) encoded with iTunes and it seems to work just fine. I use the stock player if that is important.

Thanks to you I just spent 140 pounds :-P
Should have the new toy home in 4-5 days. I was doubting between the 4.0 and 4.2, but the fact the with the 4.0 I can start enjoying voodoo sound straight away has tipped the scales in its direction. The 4.2 has things going for it though, but it's very new and we don't know how it will (and if it will) work with the voodoo app, etc... I already have a 32gb microsd card loaded with a ton of .aac files awaiting to be docked somewhere...Thanks again |
