When not in Wifi range, I'd like to tether my SGP 4.0 to my Blackberry 9630 Tour phone (which has a data plan), via Bluetooth -- to allow Internet access from my SGP.
I tried PdaNet 2.30, but got a "paired but not connected" message. PdaNet support confirmed that the SGP/PdaNet/Blackberry combination is not supported at this time (though possibly in the future). Is there some way to tether a SGP 4.0 to a Blackberry Tour via Bluetooth (preferably without root access)? Thanks in advance. |

You could try bluevpn. https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...id=com.bluevpn

But under the "What's New" tab for BlueVPN, it says: "At the moment, this app requires a Wi-Fi connection to start-up the VPN. I'm working to bypass this limitation." Doesn't this defeat the goal of tethering when no Wi-Fi connection is available? |

Heh, i guess that line could be made a bit clearer. The wifi do not need to be connected to anything, just turned on. It seems to be a bug in Android up to, but not including, 4.0. Basically, Android thinks your only data options are phone and wifi and go gives up when neither are on (it effectively see it as flight mode). Think of it as a legacy of Android being developed for phones, and a bit of Google myopia regarding what bluetooth can be used for (i blame US carriers for the existence of said myopia, btw).
