Zune Rebranded into Xbox Music

Well we all knew the day was coming, but today at E3, Microsoft unveiled Xbox Music which will officially replace Zune according to Neowin.

Sad to see the brand die.

Indeed... Not a surprise in the end, but a disappointing result for a brand and product that had tremendous potential.

That said, it looks like Xbox Music will be Zune++, so we can take some comfort that Zune paved the way for Xbox to deliver (what I expect to be) a very high quality product.

Yeah, if MS had really committed themselves, who knows where it could have gone? The Zune HD really was a nice player just lacking in a couple of areas.

Do you know if the Zune HD will continue to be supported

does anyone know if the HD will continue to be supported. I have a couple of them and think they are excellent

Depends on what you mean by supported. I think the software will continue to be compatible, I think you will still have access to the marketplace, but there will not be any updates or new apps or new models.

Everything but the last point is conjecture. They may eventually update the software to the point that the HD is not compatible.
