Just the facts:
Sansa Fuze 8gb with Rockbox 3.11. When connected to my (Win XP SP3) desktop PC, does not show any connect messages or show up as a drive, although it does charge. Worked perfectly a few weeks ago. Tried connecting with the factory firmware instead of Rockbox, no joy. Tried two other Sansa cables (one factory, one aftermarket) and two other ports on the same PC, no joy. Tried the Fuze and same cables on my (Win 7) laptop, recognized perfectly. Tried the Fuze and same cables on my SO's (Win 7) desktop, recognized perfectly. So I have to think there is a glitch in the USB driver in my desktop. Is there a non-destructive way to refresh that, and make my desktop PC recognize the Fuze as if it were being plugged in for the first time? |
