That's a shame, those pads must be pretty delicate. I'll post back when my new screen arrives.

The new display arrived from Hong Kong today, I'll let you know when I've put it in.

Craig, you're my savior. It's been 3 hours now that I struggle with the touchscreen I ordered from keep in touch. But now, I've figured out what went wrong, thanks to you.

My X7 fell on the ground for the 1st time in more than a year and the touchscreen completely broke. At that time, I still had access to the HDD throught USB connexion but when I reassemble the player, the X7 ittself doesn't detect the HDD (I think that it's note a loose connection because I hear the drive turn). I tried to format the flash drive and then reinstall the 2.09 FW but no more access to the HDD. When I connect the player to my computer, Windows 7 ask me to format the drive but I don't want to do that and loose more than 95Gb of music.

Soldering done and touchscreen is OK now.
But in System Information, the X7 sees a 30Gb HDD drive instead of 120Gb (weird)

Ok, HDD problem solved. The connector wasn't push far enough in the socket.
My X7 is saved.

Thanx again for the infos

Hi guys,
I bought a X7 with broken touchscreen, followed great info on here, purchased the new touchscreen from the first post and soldered it as described (moving one pad to the right). Put it back together and was really disappointed
The screen detects something but pretty wild, I can scroll a bit to left and right (so the axe look ok) but that's all. No icon reacts to touch and I have no idea how to do a screen calibration (have no previous experience with cowon players btw). Any idea please?

Please ignore my previous post, it works and I'm happy ! It must have been a bad solder or a short somewhere...
