Default Sansa E250R Bricked?

I found my mp3 player in my old drawer weeks ago. I bought a battery for it on ebay. The battery works fine. When I start it up it says, "Load main image failed switch to recovery mode." So I put it in recovery mode and then i read online how to fix it i've tried everything but the linux thing. (Impossible) Also I tried copying the firmware, the bootloader rom, sansa.fmt blank text file, etc. I think my version txt is corrupted because every time I drag the correct files then disconnect it, unlock or lock the hold switch it freezes on exiting recovery mode screen then I have to power off 30 seconds and try again. Any help, ideas, suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Are you copying an e200R firmware file? IIRC the R won't take a non-R firmware file.

i used the pp502*.*** firmware i'm positive its the right one. My main problem is the freezing of disconnecting the mp3 player.

If you're sure you used the right firmware file and bootloader, its probably just broken hardware.

You are SOL. It would be searching for a needle in a hay stack to determine the hardware failure.
