Ha ha, try out a new Sony with Android, the S-master MX is great in the F series... I wish I was better regarding EE stuff, because I have been wondering why most discussions around the Cubed player just focus on the UI and appearance, because while funky and eclectic/cool, it's not the main reason for downloading it from that I'm experiencing, it's the sound! I wonder why it's so noticeably better than any of the other Android players. Does it interfere with the music files least of all or something?... and other players like Poweramp bog it down with bloat? And is it possible that it sounds better on the Sony and not other brand DAP's? Wish I knew. Whatever the reason, I like it.

Maybe it removes the crippling restrictions the manufacturers put in heir devices. That would allow the sound o the music to fully come through. Remember, the devices get tweaked to maximize battery life and the overall performance. SQ most likely takes a hit, as they feel it's secondary to the overall appeal.

Usability counts a lot with me. I heard people say that Neutron sounded better than anything else, but the UI just sucks compared to Poweramp or Rockbox....so it's gone from my device. So I may try Cubed, but it sounds like it won't be for me....we'll see.

Yeah, for usability it is not the best. But at least it looks kinda cool, unlike Neutron, and to my ears sounds even better.

I tried neutron, and there was no difference in sq. And the UI was horrid as well. I'd still like to try out cubed,...eventually.

PowerAMP is great (although it'll mention something about the license when I go "out of range" with my Wifi). N7Player is good, but for some reason, it skips/buffers. At least the last time I used it, lol.

I have never seen that message, and I use it just about every day and have done so for months....

Edit:
Well, the Cubed player apparently is useless for players with card slots. Even selecting the "External" for memory only allows the device's internal non-app memory. So I was unable to give it a run.

Yeah, I'm not sure why it happens, but every time I leave my house (and go on the road; out of range), that message pops up, or at least it did the two times I left my house, lol.

the true i think is that no Android crap device or app would achieve the premium sound quality
of a dedicated ,for example, mid and high end Sony walkman imho.

try clearing the app data for poweramp, unistalling both poweramp and the unlocker then power off and back on then redownloading both from the play store.

Cubed played the music on my sd card fine, but for some reason ID'd the internal memory as External, just tested it. still prefer Poweramp as it's one of the like 2 apps that can be set to automatically go to the next album (alphabetically), so when I'm driving I don't have to look down to change albums.

So your music on the card showed up in its library? Or did you have to do something else to access it?

Either way, I'm content with Poweramp as my main player. If I update my Rockbox installation, that will get more use....I just haven't bothered in a while.

I only keep music on my card, I don't store any on the internal and my music came up within a few seconds of launching and was able to play, the only thing I could think you might want to check if you have a .nomedia on your SD since it uses the stock media scanner, but yeah I'm a poweramp all the way guy myself.

I think that's it, the .nomedia. Thanks!
