For me, it's about 11 hours, I believe (listening to music and using WiFi). Not sure that's good or bad.

The biggest difference is whether or not your screen is on. I can leave mine on overnight with wifi engaged and still in Poweramp and the battery will still have plenty of charge.

there are many many factors that affect this, and thats not to mention your lack of mentioning which SGP you have (3.6,4.0,4.2 and 5.0).
That said on my 4.0, with some settings tweaking, and when my battery was in great shape I think I maxed out around 7 or 8 days, but that was with anywhere between 30 minutes to 2 hours of poweramp playback at max volume through the headphones (was running into the aux-in in my car) a day and NO other usage. Now I get about 3-5 days of the same usage, well less at this moment since I'm beta testing the latest CM9 build from team Supernova. Can't remember If I've pointed you to this or not (I know I have pointed it to someone recently) but see post #14 http://anythingbutipod.com/forum/showthread.php?t=68257 and just keep wifi off unless you are actually using it, I goofed and left wifi on and killed my battery in a day just 2 nights ago.

Yeah, I already did that, lol (and yes, you did point it out to me). I'm using a 5.0.

how much time was on wifi, and how much screen on time, 11 hours sounds pretty crappy for a 5.0? But its all in how you use it.

As I said in another topic, I found out that it was refurbished by Nuko (or whatever they're called). I wonder if Samsung will replace my battery. Anyway, screen time is 3h and 2m (3h, 19m on battery). As for the Wifi, I'm not sure?

Ok, here's how I was running my SGP5 yesterday and it lasted 5 hours:
WiFi & Bluetooth ON GPS OFF No Screen Timeout Screen Brightness on Medium FM Radio app running and Media Volume at 3/4 Radio Control app using Bluetooth on continuous Usual background apps (battery monitor and such) I started at 11:45am and at about 2:45pm the 30% battery notice beeped, and at 4:45pm it beeped again, battery just about dead. Where can I get a battery from the 5.0?

As far as I know, you cannot. It's permanently soldered in and there are no replacements officially available.
I am pretty happy with battery performance on my 5.0. I almost never max out and I use it quite a bit. Use is very varied however. Most days I'm checking email, some light browsing, surf flipboard and some news sites, go on a few discussion boards...at night surf around for a couple of hours or play soliotaire or something. Rarely do I get to 20% by bedtime. Some days I am in the field at work and I am using camera a lot, using voice recorders, checking email, using Skype voice, flashlight, and so forth...and I will be at 20% by the end of the workday. |

do some searching, I seem to remember someone doing a teardown on a 5.0 that also showed how to remove the battery and then some where else someone had sourced a replacement battery, but IIRC there is some soldering involved.

Here is the translated sight for the teardown that Daniel644 is probably talking about.
http://translate.google.com/translat...26prmd%3Dimvns You will notice at the bottom that it now says (or appears to say) that the player is now glued together. :-( Somewhere I also had the # on the replacement battery but I can't find it now so if someone else has it maybe they will post it here for us. this is where i purchased from. Have not installed yet. There is a plug on the end. It came barely packaged in a plain white box. Will post back when i finally put it in. Not shure when that will happen though. Good luck. |

With fairly heavy WiFi use I get about 2-2.5 days between charges. Just listening to music, I could probably go a week without charging my SGP 5.
