how to shuffle songs but exclude podcasts

I just received my x7. upon plugging it into my computer I made a folder in the parent dir called podcasts and have moved all my podcasts into it. All of my music files are in the folder music. When I try to just play the music files it still includes the podcast recordings. any way to fix this? With my ipod/itunes it was pretty straight forward on how to keep things organized, but im not so sure with cowan. Im not using any software to manage the fles other then windows explorer.
