I am sorry i do not know anything about a hotspot so i really need to know. So my Dad will not allow me to Get a smart phone. $30 to $40 is too much for him. So I was wondering can I get a MiFi WiFi Hotspot and use that for My internet and than get Google voice and transfer my Verizon number to google voice? the MiFi has 200 MB but i am mostly on WiFi (At home) i just want internet when i am out for Twitter and some Basic web browsing

YES!!!!! the Mifi is a WIFI hotspot and wifi is a standardized system, you just connect the player to the mifi like you connect to your home wifi, I believe several people on here do this already.

Yes, the SGP 5.0 will work with a mifi hotspot. I have done it and it works.
However, a mifi hotspot is just the same as getting a smartphone subscription and in some case more expensive. So, you are not allowed to get a smartphone, why would you be able to get an expensive mifi plan? |

If, at all, you happen to manage a few bucks for a trial with an inexpensive 'No fixed monthly payment internet plan", I would say Go for Truconnect. They charge only for the actual usage.
