Default How to convert MID file to MP3 for free?

Hey all,

Don't know if you'll be able to help me or not, but I've got a problem. I recently got a MIDI connector for my Yamaha P-95B keyboard, and am trying to record a song to an MP3 file.

I installed Yamaha's Musicsoft Downloader, and that saves it as a BUP file. Then I found a program to convert this format to a MID file. But, I can't find a way to convert the MID file to MP3.

I've tried Audacity but that cannot do the job. Does anyone have recommendations of free software to convert MID files to MP3s?

Thanks for the help, and happy new year !

A quick Google search gave me this result:

http://en.kioskea.net/download/downl...-mp3-converter

It's shareware, and free to try out, but there might be a totally free utility for this also.

Or try this site:

http://www.pistonsoft.com/midi2mp3.html

Here's a direct BUP to MP3 converter, but I think there's a cost:

Thanks for the quick reply.

I tried the second link, and it works nicely. It even has the LAME encoder (older version though). But I'd prefer not to pay for software, unless it's the only option.

Found a new program that works well. Here is the link if anyone's curious. Doesn't have many options but it converts to LAME V2 files so that's good.
