I'm new to all of this, is it possible to upgrade to ICS or Jelly Bean currently? Is it stable?
Any links to a tutorial on either is greatly appreciated. Also would be interested in your advice regarding stability or known issues with the firmwares on SGP 5.0. Thanks! |

refer to the 5.0 section in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1720457
just remember there is no camera on the ICS ROMs and the JB ROM is still in VERY early development so it has a several BIG issues. Just make sure and FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS TO THE LETTER.

Before you do anything, you'll need to root your device. Most ROMs (except for the alpha-release of JB) use CWM (clockworkmod recovery) to flash on to your device, so it's advisable to get CWM before anything else. The easiest route, and the most well-documented, is to flash eryigit's ROM (2.3.6). This is documented on this forum; look for sanchezhacker's post.
As above, don't expect a working camera with any and all ICS roms. |
