Default clip zip clip durablilty?

I am thinking of getting a clip zip to replace my 3 year old clip + whos clip is broken and the power button sort of messed up. So what I want to know is since the clip broke off my clip resulting in damage to the power button, is the clip on the zip player more durable than that of the clip+? I heard this is a common issue with the clip+.

Yes, it is.

Been using my zip clip for over a year and the clip broke off and both the select and back button do not work. Not terribly impressed.

I've had mine for a year and a half and it still looks new....

And I've got one of the original ones from when they were first released 2 years ago. Like Marvin, mine still looks and works like new. It depends a lot on how one treats and uses (or abuses) it.

Ditto--but I prefer the buttons on the Clip+: they don't get pressed inadvertently.

I have the black one and it doesn't look new. The finish on the edges of the buttons on the faces has worn down and that's a lighter color now. They work OK, they just don't look new.

One thing about it is that it's likely the people that replied here will have a different take than someone that uses a Clip Zip exclusively. I'm likely to rotate through 6-8 DAPs during the course of a week so the distribution of wear will be different from someone that just uses one.
