Hi Haryoj, and welcome :-).
Is your player MSC(UMS) or MTP?
If its MSC you shouldn't have any problem as the player will come up in "my computer" as an external drive.
If its MTP it'll depend on windows media player recognizing the device.
All my t30s are MSC so I'm a tad limited on knowledge on things you might try if your player is MTP and isn't recognized by windows 8.
You can easily convert a MTP player to MSC and vice verser with the iriver firmware updater. see here http://www.iriver.com/support/faq_view.asp?fNum=387
You may also find the iriver FAQ helpful http://www.iriver.com/support/faq_se...dWord=&x=7&y=9

I have a couple of ifp iRiver players, and I was zeroing in on a T30 on ebay. At the last minute I wanted to confirm I could use it with Windows 8 since I'd read things that made me wonder. Thanks for responding.
