@Predelnik:
Sometimes the female micro-usb connector died, and it must be resolder to work properly. you can disassemble the player and check if one (or more) pin(s) are disconnected from the board.

Yeah I could disassemble just fine but usb pins are really microscopic and I only have too big soldering iron for them (not that I very good in soldering in general). Maybe I'll ask some people in repairing workshops for doing it though))

Yes, you could try.. Generally the cause of the USB malfunctioning are his pins, and not the electronic controller.
Keep us informed about it!

Pretty funny: haven't had much time to try to repair my r0 but kept using it with micro sd, 3 days ago I noticed that usb connection started working okay as it used to)) Dunno for how long it will last, but that was sure unexpected and positively surprising))

That's due to higher temperatures in Russia those days! 25C is good for R0

I can't remember if this has been mentioned before (I can't be bothered to trawl through the previous pages) but would it possible to give an indication of charge during battery charging? It's only when we unplug the R0 and then turn it on that we can see how charged (or uncharged!!) the battery is!

With the lebellium's Samsung Like theme you can see an approximate charging percentage. It's not precise but it gives you an idea

Yes, but that would be while you're listening to the R0. I sometimes plug the player into the mains (or a solar battery charger) when I don't have to change the files.

I don't understand what you mean.. In my player it write the charge percentage both with PC or any other electrical source (external battery, car charger, dc charger, etc..) :/

Yeah it's quite unclear. Maybe he means the OF charging screen?

R0 vs R1:

That's weird! I don't have that at all. I obviously have something that isn't well set then. I took photos and will add them to this post later as I don't have the camera at hand.

Here are the photos.

If you use the LR there isn't the battery charging screen (yet..).
However from rockbox you can see the battery percentage while charging, so you can turn it on and then connect a charger.
I do not remember if is normal or not that it start safe mode also with a charger (i think not..), but i can check as soon as I back home.

It looks like just not shorted D+ to D- in a solar-charger USB-port. And it is recognized as a PC.

Thanks Ottogrey.
Ok, so now I understand the confusion. The solar charger is wired differently and as I rarely charge on the mains then I didn't know.
If I charge using the mains then RB starts automatically and there I can see the charge.
The battery charge (as in lebellium's photo above) is the only thing I miss from the OF!

With Rockbox it automatically sets the necessary frequency ("on demand").

If you are talking about modded firmware, the procedure is explained here for v2.20: http://www.anythingbutipod.com/forum...&postcount=111
I'm not sure that the CPU downclocking tool is still included in modded fw 2.30 and 2.51 though.

Not much news about Rockbox and R0 those days as lorenzo is pretty busy at school and also works on other targets (YP-R1, YP-Z5 etc) but people using FM radio a lot will be pleased to know that in the following days the hold/key lock feature will also work on radio screen and not only on music screen

Both in Modfirm and in LightROM the cpu frequency is handled by the kernel. I include all the supported governors (selectable in the rockbox_loader or with a startup script), with the "ondemand" as default.
So by default cpu freq is 200Mhz, and in case of heavy load it can reach 532mhz

For FM users: hold/keylock feature now working in FM screen (short press on power button = hold and long press = stop). Just download the latest official build
