Hey,
Yes the project is still alive. The only problem is that Lorenzo doesn't have much free time and he is working on 3 targets at the same time (YP-R0, YP-R1, YP-Z5). His latest efforts were about getting the YP-Z5 initial commit ready (see http://git.rockbox.org/?p=rockbox.gi...mmit;h=1deab73 ) but undoubtedly he'll get back working on YP-R1 when he has some time

You wrote witch instead of Switch, will this make some features unusable?
It is not a problem, it is a kernel bug (they have called it "witch" instead of "switch" haha). Anyway it should not needed anymore, and of course this was still a beta.
Did rockbox work for you?

Lorenzo92: Would be nice to see you in #rockbox again

Well, no it isn't. However there is nobody actively working on yp-r1, because we simply lack the man power. Any new talented contributor is very welcome!

The project is not abandoned. Lorenzo has less time than he once did but he still wants to work further on his Rockbox ports.

BTW, Rockbox is already working quite well on YP-R1. Did you try it?

I can confirm what Lebellium says about the Rockbox port for the YP-R1. I've been using it since it was first posted here.

I did my own Theme to remove features I didn't need and spread things out a bit on the screen to make the use of touch screen a bit easier and it's excellent.

The only thing that I miss is the ability to set the time. I can set it, with some difficulty, but the setting doesn't get remembered between restarts so it's not much use.
