Rockbox on the X5 - any pros for it?

X5L = 35h battery life, the best in any HDD player ever (it's a bit fatter than the normal X5, though)

No sorry there is not 60GB X5L. The 60GB hard drive takes up too much room to fit the bigger battery of the "L".

how is the usability of the ID3 browsing with RockBox?

I currently have a Zune and an Ipod. If the experience is comparable in ease of use, I am picking up a x5

Only difference is that the ID3 database has to be built on the device, cause it uses UMS/MSC mode, not MTP, like the other ID3 browsing enabled DAPs. So that means for the first time building the database takes ~20 minutes on a full 30GB X5 - after that it's negligible if you only add the occasional few albums.
