Hello there,
I've had my iAudio for close to 4 years now, today I accidentally dropped into my kitchen floor and knocked something out of place/broke the volume up button. I know there are 4 small screws in the corners at the back, but I'm having trouble finding a screw driver that will fit/I can use. Any suggestions on what I can do? Also, does anyone know if it possible to buy replacement covers? John. |

You can buy eye glass screwdrivers at most pharmacies and look here for disassemble instructions.
Edit: BTW parts are very difficult to come by, only if you find used/broken on ebay or forums like abi. Not long ago there was a member here willing to gift his i7 for parts if one paid shipping cost...

Thanks for the links. Do you know/does anyone know how easy it is to unscrew the, er, screws?

I think it's easy with the proper tools but what's a little difficult is finding the small clips between the two halfs.

I'm not at home but out, that said if you look at picture #3 and #17 you can see the clips. Once all the screws are out, use a small pry tool to run around the edge and unfasten one by one (only 3 afaik), you only need to losen one side of them.
Edit: Don't use crappy tools or that can happen, they sell an eye glass screwdriver set that's very nice and cheap at drug store like cvx (it's an assortment kit under $5 IIRC). Edit2: I forgot to mention, I have heard of some peeps breaking the little clips, don't worry it's not the end of the world and you can use a light contact cement if needed. Personally I'd just not use that and count on the screws.

Maybe I shouldn't say clips but rather little plastic tabs or nubs, hope you see them and understand the description.
