This reminds me of an experiment I made when studying electronics. We had very expensive DC power supplies in the lab, which provided better DC than one would ever need for domestic appliances. However good these power supplies were, it was quite easy to measure imperfections in this DC with an oscilloscope, while a battery would always show a perfect flat-line at any resolution.

Audiophiles often claim that they can hear things that can't be measured with sophisticated test equipments, so...

In most cases price has nothing to do with it, you can find great performing low cost amps as well as expensive ones. While the BYOB amplifier may fall into the later, I state "may" as I've not heard it and doubt I ever will. It undoubtedly falls into the snake oil category

I bet if all the components are added up, it won't amount much past $50.00. But I say this: There are many "audiophiles" who would pay a premium price just to get a system that's a micron of a decible quieter than the next quiet one. If they want to pay for an over inflated priced circuit, that's their problem.
