Anyone find it annoying that the backlight doesn't turn off?

I know it may be minor but I find it annoying that the backlight never shuts off. I like to listen to my player in bed and I hate that it is still on. I hope they have an update where you can make it an option.

You know, I thought you might. I should have mentioned that from the start. They really need to change that from "LCD" > "On" / "Off" to "Backlight" > "Dim" / "Off", or something.

In fact, I think I might add that to the request list.

i notic when i charge the player the lite is still on i have it set to 7 for videos and it shines when i charge it all night i was wondering if this hurt the player or made the lcd burn out faster? any 1 know how i can turn off the lite when i charge?

Well, this post was from last year... The wording of this option in old firmware versions made it seem really confusing. As you may have noticed, I got them to change it to: "On Standby" > turn "Off" or "Dim".

If you charge your player on the wall outlet via a power adaptor It will let you turn off the screen while it charges, this because it's not in data synch mode.
I think it is safe to assume that it will charge faster since no power is wasted in backlighthing. Funny, in my player (fw. v. 1.93) the battery icon even runs faster when I charge it this way
