no, how do i do it like that? i dont really want to use wmp11 to put all my songs on the zen though, i prefer media explorer, is that a problem?

Try MediaMonkey. It has a nifty autotag feature which will tag all the relevant details such as song title, artist title, album art etc... all at the click of a mouse. Dead handy.

Take a look at the album art sticky on this forum. It might help answer some of your questions.

Well, I'd take everything off of the ZVM, fix all the files on your computer and then sync back to the Zen. I had to do it.

I agree with rolltide. It'll probably take longer but will be the best way to get it done.

Ah, before I forget - if you don't want all of your pictures synced onto your Zen, be sure you go into the "sync options" and straighten that out. With a few gigs of pics on my HD, it was a pain to take the ones off that I didn't want there.

so is there a way of putting the picture on an album because otherwise the pic will only show up on certain songs, eg if there is a song which has 2 artists it wont show up becuase it has a diff directory, hope this makes sense?

ok and heres another question, have just spent 2 hours getting all the pictures and dragging them on to the album and i have now disconnected my zen and nothing comes up!

Woza I had similar problems woth album art when I first got my player a few weeks back. When you say that nothing is coming up I take it you're talking about album art?

yes, but i just spent 2 hours dragging photos onto album art in media monkey so they must be somewhere, i just want to get rid of them now!

How?

Do you have Windows Media Player 11 installed on your machine?.

Now restart Windows and your player and hopefully that should fix your album art problem. You will have to resync the music files from your hard drive to your player for the album art to show once the updates have been installed.

all of my songs are just on the zen, not on my hard drive.

i think i am just going to admite defeat although i am curious as to where all the pictures i spent hours uploading are being stored on the zen, probably taking up a good few mb's!!

Don't give up. In my experience you're best to do all your tagging while the files are on the pc. Here's what I would do:

1. If you haven't got the files stored on the pc make a copy from the zen to the pc

2. download Mp3 Tag Tools. This is a more manual hands on program than MediaMonkey. I use it to add the album art which I normally get from Amazon by doing a search for the album.

3. Tag the files with the album art using Mp3 Tag Tools. It's probably a labour intensive way of tagging the files but at least I know that it works when I do it this way.

4. When you've tagged the files then sync them back to your player and hopefully your album art will show up.

One thing I will say from my experience is that you can add album art till you're blue in the face but mine only started to behave properly once I'd installed the firmware updated for the player and downloaded the fix for the creative media explorer.

I've been where you are now so I know how fustrated and annoyed you are that the album art won't show up. But don't give up as the vision M is a great player, far better than any ipod. I've only had mine for 2 weeks but already wouldn't trade it for anything.

Once you download the patch for WMP 11, open WMP then plug in your ZVM but dont press start to sync, it will automatically, i found that with mine this was the only way to have album art using WMP 11.

I am having a problem in which the ZVM attached an album cover to the <unknown> album that it displays whenever I play a song that has a blank in the album field of the ID tag. I am not using WMP (and would prefer not to, but will if necessary), and am just transferring files in Windows Explorer. I cannot find this art in any of the files I have. (I think it got it somewhere off the internet, since I only have one song by the artist whose album cover it is, and I remixed that myself) It started when I had to reset the player after it locked up, but subsequent resets and a firmware upgrade have not fixed it. Kind souls, please help!
