Speculation of an X5 Successor...
As posted on dapreview.net, it seem the X5 is being discontinued to make way for it's next-gen HD DAP: the X7.

well, I as much as I would LOVE to see another HDD DAP from Cowon, I won't get my hope up just yet.
I have to say I loved the X5 though. Possibly the best DAP I've owned. All they need is a better screen, make it thinner but keep the X5L battery life, and implement ID3 tags, and I'll have myself a new player. Some better controls than the joystick would be nice, but it's not at the top of my priority list.
