The only reason people buy into ipods is the consumer wants to buy, basically its a fad, people buy into it, everyone follows, but some people dont buy into that. For a comeback line, "have you ever heard of following the sheep, and being a sheep?" I bet steve Jobs is laughing to himself considering the ipod.

Price –
iPod Nano = ~$300 CDN 8GB
Meizu M6 = ~$165 CDN 8GB (do I need to go any further? Yes? $165 included a crystal hard case, arm band, kick stand for picture frame mode, belt clip, no duties, no taxes, the rip off ipod has nothing except headphones, a friggin iPod case is $30, ipod knockoffs which COME with a case and the player itself is $30 shipped)

Looks –
iPod Nano = Good
Meizu M6 = Good as well, turns more heads than an ipod because everyone has an ipod, no one has a meizu, but one I show them what it can do, they usually ask me where to buy one and they will buy one the same day because they are use to apple’s rip off prices, the price for a meizu is like pocket change to them


SYNC
iPod Nano = Yes,
Meizu M6 = Yes (switch to MTP and sync with ANY MTP compatible program, not limited to itunes)

Audio Support –
iPod Nano = MP3, AAC, AAC Protected (protected music lol)
Meizu M6 = MP3, MP3 VBR, Ogg, Flac, Wav, WMA, WMA Lossless

Picture Support –
iPod Nano = JPG, BMP, GIF, TIFF (no animated GIF support, as for Tiff, why would you want a 15MB picture viewed on a 1.5” screen?)
Meizu M6 = JPG, BMP, GIF, animated GiF supported

Interface -
iPod Nano = Capacitive touch “click wheel”
Meizu M6 = Capacitive touch “D-Pad” (meizu has 3 speeds for scrolling and selection however >> single line, variable (like ipod), ultra fast scroll

Screen Size -
iPod Nano = 1.5”
Meizu M6 = 2.4” (clear winner here)

Connectivity –
iPod Nano = Propriatary USB which means you MUST buy proprietary cables for any optional plugins (fm transmitter, car HU hookup, etc, etc)
Meizu M6 = Standard Mini USB A (PDAs, Cameras, Card readers, USB hubs, usb Headsets, other mp3s players, etc, ALL use the same type of cable, if you lose or break your meizu cable, no big deal, use the next one in line, in my case the meizu is the last inline behind 20 other usb mini A cables)

Video support
iPod Nano = None (hacked firmware like rockbox will only support mpeg with a plugin, screen size sucks anyways for videos)
Meizu M6 = Xvid (all my music videos are xvid already, I watch Tv shows which are also in Xvid as well, EX: Naruto, Bleach, IT Crowd, etc)

Radio Support –
iPod Nano = No
Meizu M6 = Yes (I use the radio sometimes for traffic updates before I leave work)

FM Radio Recording –
iPod Nano = No, doesn’t even have radio
Meizu M6 = Yes, I recorded my brothers birthday announcement on the radio, then use a standard mini A cable to transfer to my PDA which also uses a standard mini A cable, then I played it using my pda’s built in speaker. FM Recording IS NOT useless (IE record emergency broadcast, there are tons of reason to have FM recording)


Voice recording –
iPod Nano = No, I don’t even think the Nano is capable of recording anything
Meizu M6 = Yes, direct to mp3

Menu Customization (color, transparency, etc) –
iPod Nano = No
Meizu M6 = Yes, I can Customize color, transparency, selection bar color, background color, etc, etc

File browser –
iPod Nano = No
Meizu M6 = Yes, folder browsing depending on how your mp3s are organized is WAY better than browsing by what the ipod nano has. The meizu also has standard browsing like by album, artist, etc

Delete songs from Ipod (w/o computer / On-the-Fly) –
iPod Nano = No
Meizu M6 = Yes, ive used this many times, its not a Useless function especially if you don’t have a computer with you (IE on train, bus, not near home on vacation or something)

Background picture change –
iPod Nano = you cant Customize anything on the nano (sound like a sheep device to me, everyone having the same thing)
Meizu M6 = yep, open your photos and choose a diffrent background for music, radio, ebook, recording, etc

Lyric file compatible –
iPod Nano = No
Meizu M6 = Yes, does a nice job in scrolling as well, even cheap garbage ipod nano clones have this, why not the ipod? (im thinking its because you cant DRM a txt file or they cant find a way to brainwash people into buying text that you can get for free of the internet)

Ebook capable –
iPod Nano = No
Meizu M6 = Yes, the different scroll methods work in the text reader as well

True Equalizer - No (not distortion effects like Jazz, pop, etc I mean REAL EQ that you set yourself, setting per freq range)
iPod Nano = No
Meizu M6 = Yes, as well as the distortion BS probably due to popular demand, the REAL EQ screen is under sound effects

High quality screen –
iPod Nano = No, 65K colors is hardly quality
Meizu M6 = Yes 260K is better than 65K, 260K is low end, cowon’s have 16M color screens, 65K vs 260K is a big diffrence

High resolution screen –
iPod Nano = No 176 x 132 is laughable at best, even though rockbox has Doom, playing at that resolution is like playing packman at this resolution

Meizu M6 = 320x240 on par with PDAs, (almost double the resolution)

Connection protocol option capable –
iPod Nano = No you are locked into the itunes proprietary format to transfer songs
Meizu M6 = Yes, you have the choice of using UMS or MTP for song transfer (as well as file transfer, MTP works with files too)

So tell me how an iPod Nano is better than my Meizu M6?

Nice. I remember testing an old RCA Lyra (Unsure of the model...was a black and purple device) along side an Ipod Mini (this was early 2005). There was NO difference in sound between the expensive iPod, and the cheap Lyra!
