Agreed. I think that, depending how the next gen Ipods go about, It is really gonna come down to the P2, ZEN, and maybe the T10 or S5....

Me too. I really really like the DJ feature on Zen players (especially the "Album of the day" feature, which I assigned to the shortcut button on my Zen Vision:M).

Looks pretty nice IMO, but the only thing worrying me are the controls on it. Anyone have any idea if its like a joystick type thing, or are they proper buttons (if so, I can see that getting annoying, as it would take ages to get to some songs lol).

Why can't Creative bring themselves to offer an option to switch between MTP and MSC, it can't be that difficult, hopefully they've at least fixed their video features, offered playlists, resume for multiple files. This player looks nice, pretty much met my expectations for their next flash player, I'm sticking with my D2 though, I don't think the Zen tops it.

Yes they're buttons and they do have a scrolling effect when you hold the buttons

Quote:
I see no reason why they WOULDN'T include the DJ options on this one, its one of their 'priority players' so they'll have they best stuff on it, and from what's been seen with the ZEN Vs, scratch resistance seems very much possible.
Yes the DJ mode is there but as for scratch resistance I'm not really sure and won't want to test it. all I can say is that the screen material feels like the V series screen and is likely to be so.

Quote:
it is more than likely that Creative will be releasing a bunch of beautiful mp3's on the 31st so if there is something nicer, I'll get that.
I hope I'll see more new stuff too this weekend in Singapore we're having an electronics fair so you never know what might come up

I'll have to play around with it more to see how good it is

Name wise there was actually a 20GB HDD player released a few years ago with the exact same name... I'll like to call it the Creative Zen card.

Wow, the first time I read a preview that is actually worse than any of the CNet drivel... this must be a new record - every 2nd word in that Zen preview is "iPod".

The conclusion says it all:

Quote:
You'd be an absolute idiot to buy the Zen before Apple's Sept. 5 announcement (new Nanos, anyone?).
Quote:
[...] and although nothing beats Apple's click-wheel and touchscreen interface, the Zen is still a powerful little audio player.
Great, unbiased journalism, based on pure facts... oh brother. Goddamn fanboy morons. Good job, Popular Mechanics.

That was a pretty terrible preview. If I wanted to read about iPods, I would have clicked on engadget.

No problem.

You have to admit, whatever you want to call that drivel, it was pretty damn biased. I mean, one would think that Popular Mechanics would know enough that if a reader is reading their puplication, they wouldn't have to compare every DAP released to the damn iPod.

Piss poor journalism there. Preview, review, or anyway you slice it. .
