Sounds like you're up and running again. Great! In the end, that's all the really counts.

good news, i deleted wmp11 and i was able to install the firmware.
But, now my battery seems to be dead (again) :s when i try to put my zen on, the light flicks and when i connect it it says it is full powered.
i just bought a new 1700 and installed it and it worked fine till the firmware change.
so has it something to do with the firmware, maybe a wire lose, or something completely else?
i just don't know what to do, cuz i hoped it would work and now this

Did you make sure you charged it fully before really using or upgrading the firmware? What firmware version did you install? Is it still locking up (no scrolling) in Recovery Mode?

yes i had it fully charged before i upgraded it. i had the 1.40.03(i think) and now i have the 1.62.02 us version, so i could have a better sound. It was still locking up in recovery mode(with full power), but i tried again and it seemed to be normal. but my battery was only red. and when i tried to put him on i could not do it(the light went on and off). it only works when i dock it and it says full loaded but the second i remove it, it says battery low.

thats the strange thing, all seemed fine with my new battery in my old firmware
i even kinda wish i did not change the firmware

Perhaps, for a test, you can downgrade the firmware. Check out this thread. This member had the same issue, downgraded the firmware to 1.30.02 and got his ZVM to work correctly. Tested it again by upgrading to the latest and the problem re-appeared.

Yeah, resetting with the dongle attached can be difficult, but it can be done. Try bending a paper clip at the right length and angle and see if you can wiggle your way in. Good luck!

Do you have an AC charger? Plug it into the ZVM (dongles AC port) in order to turn it on and use the paperclip to reset and enter Recovery Mode (like I said earlier, it is tricky, but it can be done). Then select the Reload Firmware option again. Connect to the computer when prompted and install the older firmware.

Maybe try a different firmware version. You can get older firmware versions here. I would stay away from any firmware versions 1.40.02. It was known for having a charging bug (surprised?).
