I have an old Nikon 3200 digicam.
There is no overlap between the Nikon list of cards (which ends at 2Gb) and the Creative list of cards (which starts at about 1GB)
Note that 1Gb is good for over 600 pictures (as the jpeg files are compressed in camera)

The following SD cards all work well with the camera:
Sandisk Ultra 2 128Mb - will not work in the Zen - I suspect that this is below the lower limit on card size.
Sandisk (nothing special) 512Mb and 1GB - work a treat in the Zen.
It does give me extra flexibility on holiday when there is no handy PC available.

Hope this helps.

Dave

Default SD Formatting Software

I found this Panasonic SD Formatter software, which, if I'm reading it right, suggests that it may enable some cards which wouldn't normally work, to work with the Zen or any other SD Reader. Here is the link:
http://panasonic.jp/support/global/c...formatter.html

I don't know if I'm right or not, as my Lexar 1Gb & 2Gb, Apacer 1Gb 60x and Integral 8Gb SDHC Class 4 all work fine in my 8Gb Zen, so I can't test it.

I have a Dane Elec card from The Source by circuit city, it's a new brand that came out in the last half year. It's 4gbs and works absolutely perfectly.
The only thing that irks me about the SD expansion, is the fact that you can't combine the mp3s for the random play all, and it stops playing when you go back into the file list.

* In post #68, the Panasonic SD formater tool really does work. I had a rip off card from ebay(supposed to be 8 but it was 4gb) that originally hadn't worked in my zen, after using the software, it worked! You can get them cheap for about 10 dollars and sometimes with free shipping!

That would piss me off pretty good. At least you got it working and it wasn't a total loss.

Yeah, it really pissed me off to. And then Ebay killed the seller. But hey, it was only 8$, with free shipping.
And I just got an 8GB SD and USB for less than 20$ total that really are 8GBs.
Takes almost three weeks, but its better than waiting for sales.

$8, well that isn't that bad then. I think the price should have been a great tipoff that it wasn't really an 8GB SD card though.

No name SDHCs that look just like sandisks. But I knew that risk. They work perfectly fine in cameras though. There's a couple of sellers on ebay right now that sell them out of Hong Kong. Either you get an 8GB or you get a 4GB thats been mislabeled by accident. Either way, it beats the 40$ the local stores around me charge just for a -1gb-. I work in the middle of nowhere on a native reserve. We have a Walmart, the Source, and a grocery store in a town three hours drive away that price gouge each other. It's either ebay or nothing.

Wow, that does sound like the middle of nowhere. I have so many stores around here it is often hard to figure out which to go to. Funny thing is I usually end up ordering from some place on the Net.

I love eBay.
AData SDHC cards work perfectly fine in the Zen. And their -cheap-.
In Canada, you can get the 4GB for 32$ in Canadian Tire in the electronic case.
Or, you can get this seller on eBay, DZ-Tech.
Who sells the 4GB for $7.99 US with $11.99US shipping.

Yeah EBay can be a great place to get deals on SD cards. Unfortunately, it can also be the best place to find scams on them too.
