Can the Pilot and a BT cell phone pair simulataneously with BT stereo headphones?

Yes, most headphones including the Insignia BT headphones will pair with both. When you pick-up a call with the headphones, it stops the player, and automatically switches the headphones into headset mode. When you hang up, the player will automatically restart and the headphone go back into stereo mode.

You Best Buy should have a selection of headphones which have been tested to work with the Insignia players and support Cellphone operation.
Thanks |

Fry's/Outpost? I'd imagine Wal-Mart would have a limited selection as well.

Usually cell phone stores have some because many mobile phones now have a2dp. I know ATT has some in their stores, I don't remember what kind though. I would image Verizon and other have some too. Also, if you have a Sony outlet store, they have some.

Look for the 'Spider' Bluetooth headset at Radio Shack...these were on clearance for a while for under $50, and they are very similar to the Insignia model. I have never seen BT stereo headphones at those other stores you listed.

I purchased a set of Logitech "FreePulse" BT headphones six months ago. They been very reliable, and includes a small transmitter module that plugs into ANY 1/8" jack. The phones are not cellular capable in that there is no mic, but the sound quality is very good with a little bias towards bass. They will play for 5 to 6 hrs continuously at 3/4 volume. Very compact and light weight and comfortable. They pair up nicely with my Sony Vaio Laptop(built in A2DP BT). When I bought them they were $100 US.
Edit>> I got mine at BestBuy but I think you can get them directly from Logitech. Last edited by ggkrich; 10-16-2007 at 06:47 PM. Reason: Additional Info |

Here is my experience with bluetooth headphones. These aren't recommendations, just my observations on a few of the budget-priced bluetooth headphones. Love the Pilot - fantastic value!
Insignia headphones - returned: Pros 1. Most affordable -great value for the money 2. Can change songs Cons 1. Not real comfortable 2. Lowest volume is still quite loud 3. Volume control is hard to reach Cardo S-2 - returned: Pros 1. Very affordable ~$65. 2. Foldable 3. Comfortable Cons 1. Lowest volume is still quite loud 2. Weak Bass 3. Stopped working after two weeks Freepulse - still using after a couple of months: Pros 1. Can lower volume to very low level 2. Better Bass 3. Volume control easy to use Cons 1. No ability to change songs |

I have to agree, I like the Logitechs. Shame they don't pair with phones, but I would be afraid to wear them in the car anyway, probably get pulled over.

Wow, too bad you weren't apprehensive about wearing phones in the car because it would impair you ability to drive... I've actually seen people driving with headphones on. Scary.
