Service not under warranty

Like some other unfortunate, I charge my Zen with a phone charger, and now I have a dead device. My Zen is not under warranty anymore, and I wonder how much it would cost to fix it or should I simply fill my garbage can and buy a new one.

Anyone experience after warranty service from creative. Will I have to pay the same price as a refurbished ??

I charge my Zen with a phone charger, how is that supposed to damage it. I've had my Zen since February and the only time I hook it to the puter is to change music.

If the voltage is wrong it can damage the motherboard.You can buy another motherboard & replace it yourself.http://www.anythingbutipod.com/archi...n-vision-m.php

I would look on Ebay since that is where I get them from. I would buy a "broken" one that has say a bad screen but everything else works. some sellers have just the board This is a good price for one.I have made purchases from them.
