Basically this is a slightly modified version of the folder I use for converting avi (divx/xvid) video for the PSP. This should in theory work on the Zune 2 seeing it supports h.264, but seeing I don't have one I need someone to test if the output files are compatible.
ALL INFO you need is in the readme file, including the one known error with these programs, which is a "cannot open AVS" error when you run the file. It is well explained how to easily fix this, and the readme also covers every single step of the process, so thisis something anyone should be able to do. With the PSP, I get around 1:1 conversion, a bit faster, and that's not half bad for h.264 video conversion. The speed of course depends on the computer's specs. DOWNLOAD Note: Zune 30 does not support h.264, so this conversion is pointless for Zune 30 users. Last edited by Cruleworld; 05-17-2008 at 08:01 AM. Reason: Adding "Note:" section |

I ordered one off eBay last week, it got to my house a few days ago, but now it's a matter of my parents sending it to me here in Germany (maybe 2 weeks tops) and I'll be sure to try it, since video's the main reason I got the Zune. I'll report my findings on it once the Zune gets here.

this is for the Zune 2, hence the topic title. It will not work at all on the Zune 30

No it won't. The old Zune don't have the hardware to use h.264, thats the difference between them

Unless I'm very mistaken, no, the video codec is the only thing it won't get due to the hardware necessary to play h264 not being in it. Its a very demanding codec, 720p videos won't even play on my desktop PC due to it being too slow

Yea, the h264 thing (I THINK) is a hardware thing, can't be changed by a simple firmware update (which is tomorrow) =D

if the h.264 transcoded video output conform to the specs published by MS at www.zune.net it should work.
