ZV:M Pouch

Arrggghhh! My brother just got a Zen V Plus and it's got a sexy black pouch. My ZV:M came with a crappy cream coloured one.

Does anyone know where I can get one or if I can have theirs or even a swap?

will the ZVM even fit in a pouch made for the v plus? it seems like it would be an awful tight fit

That's the thing, it's the same size - his pouch is way too big for the V Plus.

well i don't know anywhere you can get one, maybe ebay, although i find it unlikely, maybe you should look for a different case you like, or one for the v plus your brother likes and get it and trade with him.

I've looked on ebay, but there only seem to be leather ones. I don't really want that. Hopefully he'll let me have it later or I'll try your second suggestion.

The cream pouch sucks BIG time, mine is already breaking, and has been very dirty for months...

I never used my cream pouch.

I use a mobile phone padded pouch with a belt loop that came with a Belkin brand padded laptop bag. It holds my ZVM with either its dongle for use in my car or there is enough space to fold in a pair of buds or iems if the dongle is left out for use on planes and trains. It is a perfect fit for the ZVM and if I drop it, I guess it would offer a lot more protection than the cream pouch 'cause it is well padded out.

Without a BSE i think the pouch left tiny scratches as well. And man did it get dirty.

I think your right about the scratches thing, when i first got mine before i bought the skin i have now i used to hardly ever take it out of that cream pouch and it got badly scratched. I didn't think anything of it though, i thought i must have forgotten to put it on there one time. The black plastic the zen has scratches too easily.

I'm soooo glad I got a BSE though - lifesaver!

it only gets worse if you wash it, believe me i tried, but not because i was keeping my ZVM in it, i was using it to store a few cables ( a few USB cables and, a headphone extention) i washed it but the things just got bigger, and now the fabric is really thin

I don't even use my cream colored pouch, never taken it out of it's plastic cover. I use a silicone skin when I'm at home, or the white leather case, when I'm outdoors.

Sew one, that's my best advice. Just turn the old pouch inside out, measure it carefully and then cut the pieces out in a fabric that you like. Take double layers and if you want "moisture protection", cut open an ordinary plastic bag to match the fabric pieces. Then sew it all together and make the lock thingy the same way as it was on the old one.

I've never used any sort of case, actually. I used the pouch for my Zen Micro when I had it - eventually the string on the pouch broke through the crappy stitches and the pouch fell to the ground. Luckily my Micro was fine. I got a nice leather case for Vision M, but it's too tight, even after being stretched quite a bit. So I just put a BSE on it (never taken it outside without one) and it's fine. The BSE actually seemed to "absorb" a really nasty scratch - replaced it and the old one had a deep gash in it.

BestSkinsEver: it's basically a protective skin which covers the front and (optionally) the back of the Zen Vision:M. There are models for other players as well.

when i got my ZVM i splurged and bought a gelly case - which has a wire stand-ish thing inthe back if i'm doing something and want to watch something on my player - and a leather one

both were great investments, and i also shove my player in the cloth case i got when its in another case, just to keep it safe

Yeah I have a siliconeskin, an IS and a leathercase. The IS always stays on (it's the same IS the ZVM came with 7 months ago, what's the "lifetime" on these IS? Anyone knows?), and I never use my baby without my pretty white leathercase och the siliconeskin.
NOT A SINGLE SCRATCH ON IT...beat that...
