Default Improve FM reception

While at work (cubicle) I would like to listen to FM on the Pilot, but the reception is terrible. I've tried a 5 foot stereo extension cable with the earbuds attached to the cable, which helped some but not enough - still a lot of static and the music drops in and out.

1. I have an extra amplified antenna, similar to the Terk amplified AM/FM antenna that I have plugged into the 75 ohm jack on the back of my home stereo. Since the connector is 'F' type, I think I would need an F-Type (Female) jack (to connect to the antenna) to 3.55mm miniplug adapter (connect to the Pilot). I've seen these advertised (similar to the following):

2. Buy an amplified antenna with a 3.55 miniplug - typically advertised for cars - and somehow convert it from 12V to AC. Here's a link for one:

Any thoughts on these approaches? Alternatively, does anyone have any suggestions for an office cube dweller who would like to listen to/record from the FM?
