Hello I'm this is probably a question for Digitaldel
I'm thinking about buying this player(or asking for it for Christmas) and was curious if it is possible to update the firmware with out using the exe I know there aren't updated firmware yet but I don't use windows I use linux and would prefer to not have to install anything on my family's computer to update the firmware Is it even possible to update the firmware like the portal players with a file like the mi4 files? thanks |

You can just install a trial (fully functioning) version of VMWare and put XP on there or whatever you have. That is if there is not a way to fix it. Or beg a friend for help obviously by hijacking their windows computer. VMWare is very handy for not actually letting Windows touch your computer, unless you think virtually touching it counts

Digitaldel can answer on how they will officially release updates, but when helping them debug a bluetooth issue (on the Sport) I was sent a firmware update that was installed by just dragging the file onto the player. No .exe file.
