...but if it is features that I want and use, I would pay. Creative players are some of the better priced players usually as well.

No, not too much. Many others would agree. Apparently Creative is the one with the issue of not releasing a ZVM/Zen successor.

Sounds pretty much like the Cowon O2 you're describing there.

I must say the Cowon 02 looks like a brilliant piece of kit - touch screen notepad feature text file browsing and so much more. I am tempted, very much so. Although with a totally different form-factor to the much smaller Zen X-fi it's not a direct competitor.

I have to admit, after being used to carrying around a Zen, it would be hard to get used to carrying anything larger... not sure I could do that anymore.

I agree. With so many fine players out there in a larger form factor that are more video oriented, I would like to see the Zen stay small. I don't want to totally abandon the occasional video, so the the mini players are not a good option for me; the Zen fits a niche.

I'd like to see something with the shape of the Zen Micro ~ the rounded backside, maybe the removable battery, size somewhere between that and the Vision: M.
Keep the FM radio, have the USB host thing... I'd like being able to upload pictures from my camera straight to it. That could go with the expandable flash memory, except that'd be fully integrated... The organizer would be cool if you could actually add stuff to it without a computer. Though cool, it wouldn't need Wi-fi, but maybe some downloadable apps would be fun. Bluetooth fosho - I hate the cord getting in the way when I'm playing along with songs on drums, I'm always afraid a stick might rip the headphone jack out with the cord... Mildly customizable firmware would be nice, like being able to change fonts or startup screens without hacking it. Maybe more preloaded display themes.

Maybe it wouldn't need all of this, it doesn't need to do chores for me, but I want something that makes my iPod owning friends jealous like my ZVM did.

actually my dream creative would be 1ghz droid(the most stable release) with all the bells and whistles.. 16 gb gps wifi and REAL bluetooth that would pair with anything.

with a multi touch screen and atleast 512mb of memory/ram
