Merged with main ID3 Tag thread.
I currently don't have any files tagged this way, but I will try to get to testing it soon.

I have the new zen media player in 4gb. No matter what file is played or displayed it shows the same album art. When I connect to my pc and browse music files it shows the same art for all files. Thanks for any forthcoming help.

Sounds like a tagging issue, try looking at the music files on your pc via a program like Mp3tag. Once corrected, reload tunes and you have to refresh the db on your player.

I'll let you know Of my experiences with the Zen X-Fi ... Zen Vision M died a while back and used my phone in the interim .. but have been getting to grips with the X-fi and how its a lot different from Vision M.
The Album art seems to be problematic ... folder.jpg files dont work and maybe something I'm doing wrong but the ALB files dont work either. HAve tried creative centrale but thats doesnt seem to be able to update the files already on the player... media monkey is good but again doesnt seem to be able to save to that already on the player Mp3 tag is pretty good but again doesnt seem to work. Have also tried copying albums from the player on to hard drive updating (checking in various media players shows the art is functioning correctly but alas still unable to get the album covers to show) Vision M worked like a charm and recognised a lot more movie formats to boot .. Its great little player but not neccesarily and upgrade from vision M. Still unable to view covers ... but what can you do ... !! |

I have a 500x500 pixel album art. Why on Now Playing screen, it was croped?
can you tell me the max resolution of album art, plz? thanks

At a guess, based on screen size and the album art physical size on screen when viewed at largest size, the Zen only uses 180x180 pixels to show album art. Most of my embedded art is at 200x200, but I have some up to 1000x1000 (maybe more) at these are displayed ok (resampled down to 180x180 or so, but not cropped).

As a Linux user (Ubuntu) I was having some problems getting the Zen MX (16Gb) to recognise the ID3v2 mp3 tags I was using, files tagged via Easytag. However, I started using MP3 Diags (available via the Applications-->Ubuntu Software Centre, and that's done the trick. I wish I knew why this works and the other one didn't, but it seems to be beyond me. Some setting buried deep in a sub-menu somewhere possibly.
Just thought I'd mention it in case anyone else was in the same boat. |
