Hi !
I've bought Insignia Pilot 8g just few hours ago in Best Buy and I am EXTREMELY happy with it (what a break after Ipod Nano!) - pairs and plays great on my Motorola S9 Bluetooth headset, integrates seemlessly with Rhapsody To Go, great for photos and videos etc. One problem which may be somebody can provide me advice : Few times when I put photos an/or videos on the player ( I used Media Convertor downloaded from CD) and then disconnect players from USB ( I wait until "OK to disconnect" appears) player freezes (On the screen appears Profiling .. Media Types .. When I reset the player , by holding power switch for 10 sec as advised, it starts OK ,all the downloaded files are there and shows and plays fine. It has already happened couple of times but never when I downloaded music only - as I wrote I only have the player for 2-3 hours. Anybody with similar experience can recommend the remedy ? Should I upgrade to latest firmware (if its available) ? I have version 1.006 on the player Is Media Convertor to blame ? Thanks a lot in advance |

Hey ip8g_345,
That is one downside of the player, it has to rebuild the library every single time you start up the player. Let it finish profiling the Media files, it should be faster afterwards

How long does it say profiling media types before you reset the Pilot? You can also just exchange it too.

On this two occasions I waited about a minute or so.
May be I wasn't patient enough. I'll try to download more videos/photos today evening to see if it repeats What is the max reasonable time player might spend rebuilding library ? Yesterday evening I downloaded quite a bit of music - 3 Rhapsody channels , 5 DRM CDs and 2 or 3 of MP3 CDs and library rebuild was really fast, just few seconds. Of course I can exchange it in Best Buy, but all other things work very well, so I thought may be its my fault. Regards |

Yes, definately try waiting longer. I think it takes around a minute or longer sometimes because it rebuilds the library.
