Welcome to abi >>
![]() Help me is not a good thread title - I have changed the topic title to something more descriptive, in the future please use more care. This way others can use search to find info out easier. Edit: apologies, I don’t own a zen, someone should be along shortly to help you out.

Thanks, Ray.
![]() Okay... We need to know a few things first: 1. What version of Windows are you running? 2. Have you installed the software that came with the player (if you haven't, don't rush to do it now; there may be better solutions available depending on your answer to #1)? 3. What is the source of the music you want to put on your player (ie. ripped CD's, music store downloads, music store subscriptions, existing MP3 files from "other" sources, etc.)?

Okay.
If you haven't done so already, make sure that Windows has been updated to Service Pack 2. Then, download and install Windows Media Player 11. Now, since your player was given to you used, I recommend completely cleaning its hard drive to avoid any complications down the road. To do this, boot into Recovery Mode and run both Disk Cleanup and Reformat Disk. See this FAQ thread for detailed instructions. Once that's all done, launch WMP11 on your computer. Then plug in your player and allow WMP to configure it. You are now ready to sync music to your player. Note: You should configure WMP to monitor folders on your computer that contain your music files so that WMP can sync them to your player. Since you have gotten a ZVM without software and presumably without an owner's manual, I strongly recommend you read through our FAQ subforum. Welcome to ABi!
