Yes, I meant the Zen vs the Nano and the Zen Vision:M vs the iPod Classic.

The Zen isn't competing against the iPod Nano in particular, since it has real video capability on a screen that actually sports an adequate size and color range. If it was competing with the Nano in particular, then it would be even thinner (I actually don't like how thin it is), available in more than one color, would not have 100% tactile controls, and would lack FM radio, voice recording, a standard USB port and an SD card slot.

I have reliable information that Creative indeed has something really nice up its sleeve. It should be announced during the upcoming CES 2008.

I wouldnt be suprised if it was either released in Q1 of this year, as creative doesnt have the time to waste without a good HDD player until december.

But yes thats been the general idea ever since the ZV:M was discontinued, Creative generally has a good show for CES each year

I'll wait until something has FULL sd integration, flac and ogg, user removable battery, better sq, amazing battery life, and HIGH VOLUME ON VIDEOS. Almost like my D2 but with a user removable battery. The vision:w and the Vision:m I had were nice and all, but if I was out, I couldn't hear my vids.

Really? i can get just about the same volume out of my videos as my music. id have to say that the quality the video files were ripped at was probably low on the audio side or the volume was low.

Well. sad to say. Creative REALLY dissapointed me @ CES. i Mean. they just added 3 unnecessary players. a Stone and Stone Plus with speakers, then a T200 (a T100 with a screen) which the T200 is basically a Stone Plus non speaker version because it has the same features.
JOY. i officially give up on Creative. TWO years in a row that IMO they have not released ANYTHING worthwhile. one thing only being the Zen which is ok but not nearly as good as the ZVM.

dont like the Zune (MS actually managed to release player even more restricted than the ipod). really love my Zen. If someone doesnt come out with something that can truly compare to my Zen, I will have no choice but to buy a Crapple.

That's really disappointing since I was waiting to see what they released to decide if I'm keeping my Zen 8GB. I just got the Zen a week ago and figured the ZenVM would be a better purchase... same day I find out that its discontinued.

I'd rather not buy something that won't have support for much longer but there are no other appealing alternatives right now. I guess 8GB's will have to last me for a while...
