Default Argh! USPS lost my View!

I know it's not really Sansa related but someone might help...

I've ordered my View on Amazon, and since a friend of mine was going to NY, I had it delivered to her hotel (I live in Italy, and shipping costs+taxes would have raised the price a lot).

They've sent it via USPS with tracking number, so I checked the transit of the package until it said it was delivered, on Jan 22nd.

But last night my friend arrived in NY, and asked for the package, but the receptionist/concierge told her there are no packages waiting for her!!
She asked them to double and triple check, but still they say there's nothing there. How can it be? And what do I do, now?

:-(

Speak to the hotel manager and tell him an employee either stole it or lost it.

Well, I don't think filing a lawsuit from Italy would be easy and quick enough to make the View arrive on time. :-)
I've talked to the Amazon Customer Service and they asked me to call the hotel and make sure the package is really lost. If the hotel really cannot find the package, either the guys at Amazon send the item again (but no way it's going to arrive on time) or they fully refund me.
At least I won't lose my money, but I won't have my View either.

I've called the hotel... they transferred my call to their Business Center, and after 10 minutes of call waiting, they found my package.
Phew!
