Default NWZ-A82x coming soon!

ive just heard of the new and "top secret" Walkman from Sony and all we got was the backside picture, capacity info, bluetooth 2.0 and basic dimension. i wonder: 1. 3" / widescreen / 16:9 touch screen? 2. built-in mic? 3. carried-over and improved features from the NW-A81x series? 4. firmware upgrades ala Samsung P2 via Sony's "dedicated" Walkman download site? 5. Auto-Rotate and CoverFlow-ish feature? 6. Divx support 7. more colour availability ( black, white, blue, red, silver as initial ones)

I'm hoping for a power button that needs to be held for a couple of second to activate...unlike the silly method employed by the 610.

I hope that this also means that S62x are coming soon.

The appearance of the S61x is special IMO. Sort of an ipod nano with improved physics, more functions and lastly not Apple made... Sony! hehe

yup posted some of the info here a while back

http://www.anythingbutipod.com/forum...ad.php?t=22413

I don't think it will have a touchscreen unless sony remakes the front of the units to have a large screen and then make it touch, who knows, hopefully sony will release details soon.

I so want one. It looks just like a Creative Zen or Sansa View - only not ugly or cheap.

Sony sure gets the design right - the A820 looks perfect, in my opinion. Technocratic, sterile, and menacing - no-nonsense, just the way I like it!

The whole thing reminds me of my good old Sony TH55 PDA... a pinnacle in the art of designing gadgets.

The recording cradle looks like a great idea....even though I have Media Centre Edition XP and could record tv and transcode to H264....it still looks worth getting if it charges as well and an AC charger wasn't supplied as standard.

So far looking at specs the player offers only more memory, better battery life, a slightly bigger screen and bluetooth. noise cancelling is not included in the UK models.

sure longer battery life and the larger memory would be nice, but I don't think the extra memory, bluetooth, larger screen and longer battery life will be woth the extra cash.

but what the heck the UK/EU version doesn't have the "Noise cancelling" feature built-in? what's up with that...Sony? once again you are short-changing your euro fans!

Why do you need "noise canceling" when isolation is better?

Well, if you look at Sony's previous release with NW-S700 series with built-in noise-cancellers in US and Europe, consumers only criticized for having higher price for having the built-in NC. Apparently, general population has no idea about NC and can careless... Considering some has no idea about the difference between active and passive NC.

Anyhow, the recording function in NWZ-A820 series is interesting and I am sure the sound will be great; and the design looks very solid, although NWZ-A810 series had a great design also.
